The name "Rio Seco" pays homage to the rich tobacco-growing region of Vuelta Abajo in Cuba. "Rio Seco" translates to "dry river" in English, a reference to the unique terroir of the region where the finest Cuban tobacco is cultivated. Cuban cigars are increasingly favoring thicker ring gauges, as seen in the Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Río Seco, with its 56 ring gauge. 

It is part of the brand's Le Hoyo series, which is known for its milder flavor profile and larger ring gauge cigars.

This shift started in 2014 with the Le Hoyo de San Juan (54 ring), and the Río Seco continues this trend. The Río Seco offers a modern way to enjoy Cuban cigars, allowing for more tobacco and expression of Cuba's terroir Whether you prefer thicker or thinner cigars, the Río Seco delivers nuanced and delicious flavors of cinnamon, nutmeg, oak, and caramel.
